| The Bayberry guild was formed in 1981 in Eatham by fifteen students in a Nauset Adult Education Class. Membership grew rapidly and in 1986 an evening division of the guild was established. The guild is dedicated to quilting and the education of members and others in the art of quilting. Since its inception, the guild has grown to include quilters from all over Massachusetts as well as many other states. One of the most exciting aspects of the Bayberry guild is the wide range of talents in the group. The beginner is made to feel as comfortable as the professional. | |||||||||||||||

Guild meetings are held montly on the fourth Wednesday of each month, and on the evening before, September through May. Day meetings take place at the Church of the Nazarene in Dennis, and evening meetings take place at the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School conference room. Meetings include lectures by nationally recognized quilt artists, member "Show and Tell," and a business meeting and guild update. We also conduct Saturday "Quilt-Ins" on the second Saturday of each month, where members socialize and get expert help with their projects. "Quilt-Ins" take place at the West Dennis Graded School House in West Dennis. We have a full program of workshops taught by quilting experts which take place the week of the monthly meetings. |

Over 200 quilts are made each year and donated to various charities, hospitals, shelters, etc. The guild hosts an annual Quilt Show on the first weekend in August at the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich.
